Photo tips
"How do I get the perfect photograph of my pet?"
Pets do not usually like to sit still for long so taking a good photograph of Fido or Fluffy is not always an easy task!
Ideally you will need three people:
- one to control the pet
- one to attract their attention
- ... and one to take the photograph!
Get your pet's attention by saying something they
understand, making an unusual noise or offering some
food or a favourite toy. Different pets will respond to
different things.
Experiment with different views. A three quarters view is sometimes more interesting than a side view. You may need to take several photos in order to get the perfect one.
It is best to take the photograph outside where
possible, either in bright shade or hazy sunlight.
When you are ready to take the photograph, crouch down so that your pet's photograph is
taken from eye level but try not to get too close to
avoid being intrusive. You may find it easier to use a
zoom lens.
Remember, the clearer your photograph, the better
your pet portrait will be!
